Better to convince people than to force them Essay Example for Free

Better to convince people than to force them Essay It is better to convince people than to force them: DISAGREE/ Agree I would like to talk to you about today the topic â€Å"convincing people is better forcing them† and I am against this saying no forcing people is better but I also agree and saying that convincing Is better, please don’t get confused because in some cases it is truly better to force people but in some other cases it is better to convince all depending on the situation. There are a few ways to prove this point. One, forcing someone to do something is quicker and more efficient. There is also a term â€Å"fake it till you make it†. Convincing people might make it slower and waste time but in some cases it will be more efficient and thus be less violence. Forcing people can be quicker and more efficient. I believe in some cases being forced to do something is much more effective than convincing since it will be a waste of time. One, Valley and the damn Another example is homework, I know we all hate it but, we have to do it, we are forced to because of teachers and parents even though we don’t want to we are forced to do so but imagine if they tried to convince us but, obviously no one will actually do it in the end, in other words you can say they force us because they want what is best for us. Have you ever heard the term â€Å"Fake it until you make it† before? New school Working out Convincing people does take time but reduces all force or in some cases war or violence. Palestine and Israel war for the past almost 70 years Imagine a world where there were no advertisement and you were forced to eat them than to convince them. Eating products forcefully  Buying forcefully. But this might not always work in some cases like for example in Syria where the war that has been occurring for more than two years and after all the bloodshed and lives lost there is no room for trying to convince someone who has lost everything to the regime to stop fighting. Trying to convince some and to force someone both have their own time and place. To reduce violence Not to waste time in case of emergency

How Can I Get Him to Do His Homework? :: Essays Papers

How Can I Get Him to Do His Homework? "The choices you make today determine the choices you get to make tomorrow." When determining the best way to get Student N to complete his homework on a nightly basis rather than putting it off altogether, I inquired about what would get him motivated quickly. Student N rarely did his homework and so his grades were being affected. When I first came to his classroom I immediately noticed Student N was extremely engaged in the lessons and was an active participant in classroom discussions, but when it came to homework there was absolutely no enthusiasm. I took it upon myself to determine the reasoning behind Student N’s anti-interest in after school work. My research was completely discrete and extremely casual. I simply wanted to find out what kept Student N from doing any homework and what steps we could take to get his grades back on track. Homework, for any grade or subject is extremely important. Homework is a way to bring parents into the school setting and enhance learning that took place during the day. Homework is vital to any student as they are reinforcing the information they learned throughout the day. As a beginning teacher I feel strongly about the effects of homework and don’t feel that it should be overlooked by students, parents or even teachers. Although a student should have adequate time to spend with family and friends, it is important that they realize learning doesn’t end when the bell rings for dismissal. Literature Review In order to increase the amount of homework Student N does a variety of approaches and techniques must be considered before prescribing the appropriate anecdote. Student choice is understood to boost student motivation thus improving aspects of their classroom performance. Hess and Cluck found that student motivation could be increased through multiple intelligences—and they have a plan! â€Å"The lack of motivation became evident as observed in incomplete assignments, low-test scores, and disinterest in subject matter. A review of the literature indicated motivation to learn is a problem nationwide. Students need to be self-motivated since extrinsic rewards may be counter-productive.† (Hess et al.) Both my methods and idea for this imparticular inquiry came from Hess and Cluck’s findings. Motivation could be increased through multiple intelligences and thus I set off on my research.

How the Leather Industry Handles a Specific Operations Management Issue or Set of Issues Essay

Operations management is the field which is concerned with organizing and executing physical and technical activities of a firm. These actions are conducted by a combination of raw materials and processing or assembling the various components, using the services of workers, machines, tools and power. It is a typical integration of many different functions. Operations management plans normally include instructions in principle of general management, manufacturing and production system. An operation may be defined as â€Å"the process of changing input into outputs by adding value to some entity† (Edurkar, 2009). The two key functions are to provide a product or service and to sell that product or service. It involves the planning and scheming of all functions necessary for the procurement of the firm’s product or services. There are some specific aspects of operations management product or services to emphasize; company volume and location of business feasible for customers and suppliers, marketing strategies, techniques and machinery to make goods, workforce management and training and quality assurance. While establishing a leather industry in Kanpur India or even a small unit, an entrepreneur is required to pay attention to various grounds like size, location and layout as they shape the efficiency of production. Such factors should preferably be considered by the entrepreneur at the project planning stage, and they must be cautious about them at the project implementation stage. A leather industry is commonly comprised of four sectors; the foremost and primary sector being the tanning and finishing sector (Singh, 2002). This phase in the production process possesses a lot of importance because the leather industry involves both small and heavy industries, so its size varies and depends upon the availability and accessibility of a large raw material base. Country’s livestock like buffaloes and goats provide basic raw materials for this industry. Some factors determine the size of the industry like land, building, etc. Size of land should be enough to take care of present and future requirements like storage of raw material and finished goods. Kanpur in Utter Pradesh is a city which enjoys abundant availability of raw material and it is very easy to establish a leather production unit there because it also has basic infrastructure for this business (Bhargava, n. d. ). As proper location of an enterprise is crucial for its success, so Kanpur is the place where a novel entrepreneur can establish his leather business easily, because availability of raw material and cheap skilled labor is not a big deal as it has a professionally developed leather market. The first issue of operations management is the designing of a system. This begins with product development. It should start with the assessment of customer needs and gradually grow into product design. The competence and apparatus that will produce a product, as well as the information system needed to observe and control performance, are part of this design process. As far as the leather industry or unit is concerned, one factor is quite interesting and encouraging that this business in developing countries like India is not as difficult or complicated in terms of competence and equipment needed. For example, a newcomer can initiate a small cottage leather industry with reasonable investment and can get a cheap skilled labor force. Kanpur is the largest centre of buffalo based leather in India. Its tannery industry (tanning is the process of preserving skins of animals to produce leather) began during the British rule and the industry has continued to grow since then. Most of the tanneries are small, so it is quite feasible for an entrepreneur to initiate a leather-oriented business in this region. Leather production system design in the specific region is dependent upon the existing resource base. During recent years, most of the leather industries have shifted from industrialized to developing countries. Reasons can be frequent availability of raw material, cheap labor cost and flexible environmental regulations. As environmental regulations are stricter in the industrialized developed world, establishing leather business in a country like India can be helpful for an enterprise so that chances of changes in its layout would be minimal.

Huck finn essay

Houck Finn was designed to portray the realist aspect of life. Twain intended to make The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to satirized life in the South and the change from slavery to equality. Houck Finn is a perfect example of our abhorrent past, and for that reason, it should be a book that is not ignored in the classroom. Houck Finn should definitely be used for an educational purpose because Twat n used it to show us that a black and white person could work together in order to ache eve a common goal during the time.In his novel, Twain uses the â€Å"unworn† in casual dialogue † s a way to underscore the chilling truth about the old South, that it was a society where perfectly â€Å"nice† people didn't consider the death of a black person worth their notice. † (Sale n) Houck Finn starts out believing that slavery is a part of the natural order, but as the story goes on, Houck wrestles with his conscience, deciding that he would rather be â€Å"damned to the e flames of hell rather than betray his black friend. (Salient) The book is nothing less than free doomed and a quest in finding freedom. Students should be able to read Houck Finn in a class room environment because education â€Å"should not always be painless. † (Chadwick shush) Issues of sexuality, race, politics, and religion frequently come up in literature. When these subjects are brought up, many people feel under â€Å"attack† by the topic. â€Å"All the same, w e cannot let ourselves shy away from the uncomfortable purely because it hurts.Ignoring the problem of racism won't make it go away; it needs to be confronted and dealt with in a re spoonbills and informed manner. Without the historical and literary background, it is practical Ill impossible to find a solution. (Shepherd) We shouldn't close our eyes and pretend that race SMS never existed. We should face the fact instead of fighting it because it is a part of oh r history. Houck Finn allows us to see the views of black people from a white, southern boy.Of r example, when Jim gets mad at Houck for lying about his dream, Houck feels bad. He stats sees that â€Å"it was fifteen minutes before I could work myself up to go and humble myself to a in egger. † Houck wasn't happy about having to apologize to a black man, but he did it anyways. This shows that he is beginning to understand that the person he once saw as property, as feelings to. Throughout the rest of the novel, we can see how Houck starts to see that Jim s as equal off human being as Houck is.It is impossible to read Houck Finn without understand ding that the novel is based on historical and literary context of racism. In today's society, many high schools are racially mixed, so when classes dive I onto The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , if teachers don't confront the issue of the novel's use of the â€Å"unworn†, its bound to be taken offensively. â€Å"Despite the fact that is it the most taught t novel and most taught work of American literature in American schools from j noir high to graduate school, Huckleberry Finn remains a hard book to read and a hard boo k to teach. (Fishing) Houck Finn uses the â€Å"unworn† over 200 times and a teacher would find it â€Å"extremely difficult, if not, impossible†¦ † (Foley) to teach the novel in a predominantly black k classroom; and the offensive language in the book certainly makes it a difficult book to re ad. Some might argue that by reading this book and its racial slurs, â€Å"impressions can be made that such racist actions are all right or allowed. † (Massed) Many people say that Twain's use of the â€Å"unworn† an influence our students today to think that it is okay to use.If this is the ca SE, â€Å"all students should have the right to an education free of any form of discrimination, racial I hostility, degradations all should have the right to feel like human beings in the class groom. † (Monitor) Overall, students should not be forced to read Houck Finn because t he â€Å"unworn† brings up vulgar images of the past and can promote a negative image on blab KC people, making them â€Å"cheap slavery stereotypes. † (Salient) After reading Houck Finn, I believe it all comes down to how the teacher paper aches he novel.
